Summary of ResponsibilitiesIn this newly created role, this new leader will be responsible for helping drive this vision by leading, overseeing, and developing training programs.
Those programs will be aligned to the strategic needs and initiatives for Hirschbach Motor Lines and its family of companies.
Success in this role will be achieved through achieving a 'culture' of continuous feedback and measuring organizational effectiveness through improved business performance and an engaged workforce.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesInitial first year priorities to include:
Conducting a needs analysis with business and functional leaders to determine training priorities for all employee work groups (hourly, salaried and executive)Upon conclusion of needs analysis, propose programs and resource needs to achieve business training needs, including Leader and Individual Contributor developmentDesigns, develops and delivers engaging and impactful training and development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of various training method, for both individual contributors, people leaders and high potential employeesCompany-wide training and facilitation of 9-Box Talent Assessment Process for talent identification across organization, including high-potential talentFacilitation of Succession Planning Process and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for key employeesIn partnership with Finance and HR leadership, recommends and prepares annual training budget.
Trains and mentors leaders, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts.
Talent Requirements and SkillsThe ideal candidate will be an experienced leader of people, with experience in business operations and understanding key operational business metrics, profit & loss statements and achieving results through others.
A successful, proven track record of developing and promoting others is paramount.
Finality of title will be commensurate with level of experience and skills.
Bachelor's degree in Organizational/Instructional Design, Training & Development, Education, Human Resources, Business, or any other related field.
5-10 years professional experience leading training and development efforts, succession planning and talent assessmentExceptional design and delivery capabilities with the ability to engage an audience through passion and presencePassionate about educating and the development team members.
Expert knowledge of learning management system implementation and administration.
Experience with deploying creative learning solutions to a nationwide, highly dispersed workforce, from hourly, front-line employees to sr executives.
Strong business acumen to translate business needs and strategies into defined developmental material.
Demonstrated knowledge of presentation, computer-based training, and video softwareAbility to travel up to 25% of the timeDemonstrates an All In to Win attitude and displays self-motivation and a strong desire to learn within an unpredictable and demanding environmentWork Location:
Ideal candidate will work in our Dubuque, Iowa, or Tulsa, OK or Salt Lake City, UT location.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
