Heartland Financial has an opportunity for an Accountant in Loan Operations to join our team in Dubuque, Iowa.
The Accountant directs and assists with accounting activities within the Heartland Loan Operations department. They will be responsible for the timely and accurate reconcilement of all accounts associated with Mortgage Servicing, Loan Servicing, and other areas within the department. The Loan Operations Accountant will also act as the second review of all accounts reconciled by others.
Responsibilities:
Perform tasks and monitor accounting related processes for commercial, ag, consumer, and residential mortgage loans.
Provide leadership in continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and systems
Identify, recommend and implement potential automation and efficiencies; incorporate best practices
Recommend and assist in implementation of procedures that ensure high quality output and risk reduction within the lending areas; enhance procedures where necessary to provide mitigating controls, reduce risk, and improve quality
Assist in providing guidance and training for both at member banks and within the department as it relates to entries directly impacting reconcilement accounts
Assist in the use of technology as it relates to lending to ensure we capitalize on automation and efficiencies to be gained.
Maintain knowledge of bank products, services, policies, procedures, compliance and regulations especially those that relate to lending areas.
Maintain knowledge of software used within the lending areas, including but not limited to Loanserv, Signature, and Prologue.
This position does have supervisory responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
5 years related experience
Management experience
Knowledge of lending, Fiserv Signature, Fiserv Loanserv and Fiserv Prologue beneficial
Certified Public Account License preferred
